These terms govern leasing and displaying an image, GIF or contact card ("Content") on a block of the Global Billboards map ("the Service"). By uploading Content or completing a lease, you agree to these terms.
A lease grants a temporary, revocable right to display your Content on the specific block(s) you paid for, for the term you selected. It is not a sale of any real-world land, domain, or intellectual property, and it does not transfer ownership of anything beyond that temporary display right. Blocks return to the open market automatically when a lease ends; leases are not renewed automatically.
You may not upload, and we will remove, Content that:
Every image uploaded to the Service goes through two checks:
We reserve the right to remove any Content at any time, without prior notice, if we determine in good faith that it violates these terms — including content that initially passed both checks. Automated screening reduces but does not eliminate the chance that something inappropriate is briefly visible before a human reviewer catches it.
If your Content is removed for violating section 2, the lease is terminated and the block returns to the market; we do not owe a refund for the unused portion of a lease terminated for a violation. If you believe your Content was removed in error, contact hello@global-billboards.com and we'll review it. Refunds outside of a violation (e.g. a technical failure that prevented your lease from ever going live) are handled case-by-case — contact us.
At purchase, we email a private link to the contact email you provide (email is optional — if you skip it, you won't receive this link and will need to contact us directly to make changes) that lets you edit your contact card and images, or remove your ad entirely, at /manage. Anyone with that link can manage the ad it belongs to, so keep it to yourself. Edited images go through the same automated + human screening described in section 3 before being considered fully approved again.
The Service is provided "as is." We don't guarantee any particular level of traffic, visibility, or business outcome from leasing a block. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
We may update these terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
